How can I test my sound card using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool?

After installing DirectX 9.0c, you can run the DirectX Diagnostics program to test your sound card. To do this:

Click on Start to open the start menu.

Click on Run...

Type DXDiag into the Run dialog box and click OK.

Click the tab that says Sound, and then click on Test. If your card fails these tests, you may have problems running Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords or any other program that requires DirectX.
