Why am I encountering gameplay performance issues when using a USB  peripheral device with Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords?

When using USB devices on your system, you may occasionally hear static and distortion in audio or you may experience slow downs and hitching in the game. This occurs because the USB device requires a percentage of the CPUs processing time and Star Wars Battlefront is also using a portion of the CPU time for the game.
