How do I change Output Modes under the Audio Options menu regarding my speaker configuration when using a Creative Labs sound card?

Adjusting the Output Mode in Audio Options does not correctly change the speaker configuration. This occurs because the Output Mode is using the speaker configuration that is selected in the Creative Labs Speaker Settings application.
