LucasArts Entertainment Company Names New Director Of Business Affairs
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- June 20, 2000 -- LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC, a leading international developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, today announced the appointment of Seth Steinberg as director of business affairs and general counsel.Steinberg will advise LucasArts' management on a full range of business, corporate and legal issues. In addition, he will manage the company's patent, copyright, trademark and other intellectual property-related issues, as well as negotiate and document strategic business arrangements and alliances in development, distribution, manufacturing, marketing and licensing.
Prior to joining LucasArts, Steinberg was legal counsel, business and legal affairs, for 989 Studios, a division of Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., based in Foster City, Calif. At 989 Studios, he was responsible for business and legal functions in connection with the production, distribution, and marketing of the company's interactive entertainment software titles, including sports games licensed by the four professional major sports leagues, their respective players associations, and the NCAA. In addition, Steinberg handled matters related to business development and the licensing of 989 Studios' intellectual property.
From 1996 to 1999, Steinberg was an associate at Reinis & Reinis, in Los Angeles, Calif., a business law firm specializing in the representation of companies in the fashion and apparel industries.
