LUCASARTS MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE REFINED TO REFLECT WORLDWIDE BUSINESS STRATEGIESSAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- January 13, 2000 -- George Lucas, chairman of the board of LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC, today appointed Simon Jeffery as president of LucasArts. In addition, Lucas named Mary Bihr to the newly established position of vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for the company.
Jeffery previously directed the product development and international business activities for LucasArts, managing the distribution of the company's titles in more than 30 foreign territories. Jeffery was hired by LucasArts in 1998 to expand the company's international operations and to reshape its product development structure.
Bihr, former director of North American sales and marketing, will unify the company's global sales and marketing objectives, and build upon LucasArts' considerable reputation in the interactive entertainment industry.
"These appointments reflect a focusing of LucasArts' overall business functions," says George Lucas. "Former President Jack Sorensen shaped the company's strategic direction and I credit him with building LucasArts into one of the world's leading developers and publishers of interactive entertainment software.
